Mustek has introduced the new camcorder models DV700TZ and DV530TZ. The DV700TZ offers 7 Megapixel and capture MPEG4 videos @30fps with a resolution of 720×480, while the DV530TZ – as the model number might suggest – offers 5.3 Megapixel and a resolution of 640×480. The DV700TZ offers a 2.5″ display and the size of the DV530TZ’s display is currently unknown.
Both offer 64MB internal memory and are expandable with SD cards, which can also store MP3 to be played back on the built-in MP3-Player. They both offer 3x optical zoom and will cost $300 (DV700TZ) and $230(DV530TZ).
They are not as low-end as you might expect from Mustek and judging by the specs should be well enough to take decent holiday videos and similar. Just don’t expect to be winning Oscars anytime soon
